Horror Movies Featuring A Presidential Figure

While President’s Day isn’t the most exciting of holidays, it is reason enough for the federal government to award a day off work to office dwellers and postal service workers galore. And for that, we thank our founding fathers. When thinking about the good ol’ red, white, and blue these men fought—and several died for—we decided to challenge ourselves to list as many horror movies featuring a theatrical president as we could, because why not? When you’ve got former President Donald J. Trump running for office, again, the real world is basically a horror movie’s shittier sequel. Well, I guess we don’t know if it’s shittier, yet. Anyway, enjoy these movies while you enjoy your three-day weekend—or don’t.

President’s Day (2010) 

Stakes for the student council elections at Lincoln High escalate drastically, as an individual disguised as Abraham Lincoln begins attacking the candidates, transforming the event into a life-or-death situation.

President’s Evil (2018)

In the lead-up to the November midterm elections, three young girls representing diverse backgrounds—one Muslim, one Mexican, and one Haitian—find themselves pursued by a disturbed assailant donning the attire of the President of the United States.

The Purge: Election Year (2016)

Released two years after The Purge: Anarchy, this American dystopian political action horror by writer and director James DeMonaco adds a stronger political element to the franchise.

Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Slayer (2012)

After losing his mother to a vampire's bite, young Abe Lincoln vows revenge and ironically, is later rescued by a vampire hunter who teaches him the art of dispatching bloodsuckers.

In this telling during Civil War times, President Abraham Lincoln takes on the challenge of eliminating Confederate zombies.

The Cabin in the Woods (2011)

There is more than meets the eye in this genre-bending horror film as five college friends venture to a secluded forest cabin to have some fun and are instead met with a series of terrifying experiences. While falling prey to Evil Dead-like zombies, they discover that someone else is manipulating the horrific events.

Scary Movie 3 (2003)

There are several stories to unpack here, but we’re focusing on the fact that the U.S. President helps to solve the link between the tape and the crop circles in this comedy-horror classic.
