PMPF Returns To The Lindsay Theater For Its Third Annual Thriller Picture Show
What Sleeps Beneath is excited to sponsor the Third Annual Thriller Picture Show, with our Director of Content, Ande Thomas, honored to serve as one of this year’s judges.
Taking place from October 11-14 at the Lindsay Theater and Cultural Center in Sewickley, Pennsylvania, the festival showcases independent filmmakers in an environment that celebrates both short and full-length films across genres like horror, science fiction, thrillers, and dark comedies. In addition, this year’s event will also feature a project from the late George A. Romero.
“We are honored and thrilled to be returning to The Lindsay for the 2024 Thriller Picture Show,” says Leigh Morrissey, Communications Director for festival presenter Image 987 Productions. “Every year, the festival has gotten bigger and better. This year, it received several hundred submissions from 20 different countries, reflecting the global impact and importance of cinema.”
The Lindsay Theater, known for its commitment to independent film and cultural programming, provides the perfect backdrop for this festival of the macabre. Attendees can look forward to a mix of screenings, including submitted works from rising filmmakers as well as special showings of cult classics Monkey Shines and Cocaine Werewolf.
This year’s festival promises to be a celebration of cinematic storytelling, with awards presented for Best Narrative Feature, Best Short Film, and individual categories such as Acting, Directing, Editing, Cinematography, and Score. The Thriller Picture Show, now in its third year, continues to expand its reputation as a premier platform for visionary filmmakers from around the world, drawing hundreds of submissions.
An “All-Festival Pass” is available for $45, granting access to all 2024 Thriller Picture Show screenings (Oct. 12, 13, 14 & 24) at The Lindsay. Individual passes can also be purchased, here.
We look forward to celebrating the art of independent cinema and embracing the eerie, mysterious, and thrilling works on display with you this month!

One of the things I like most about horror is its range. Horror can be represented across the full spectrum of media and found lurking within even apparently-conflicting genres. I look back over the past few years and think beyond the obvious horror-homes of film and TV to examples like Tom Wright’s harrowing stage adaptation of Picnic at Hanging Rock, the haunting and hauntological sci-fi horror art books of Simon Stålenhag or even Cryo Chamber’s ever-expanding discography of sinister, abyssal dark ambient.
